Hangman Page/CM Punk Face to Face | AEW Dynamite, 5/25/22

The main event match for AEW's Double or Nothing PPV is "Hangman" Adam Page vs CM Punk, so in wrestling tradition, we have a "go home" promo. Here are some talking points from the promo. Punk plays this promo primarily as a white meat babyface, telling the crowd he loves them and is committed to becoming the AEW Champion. Page tries to fire up on Punk about how determined he is. Punk puts him over as a talent and says he is just the next in line and nothing personal. Page goes off on Punk and talks about how he is going to destroy Punk.  He begins speaking in a confusing way about Punk and hints about the type of person he is. Punk talks about Page talking in circles and reminds Page that Punk is the one who built the current business they are in.  Segment essentially ends with Page punching Punk. Analysis Absolutely drives me nuts when talent takes the mic away from the interviewer.  The difference with this one is Page took the mic from Tony Schiavone and t

Lashley/MVP with Omos: Raw, May 23, 2022

The feud that some wish would end continues, between Bobby Lashley and Omos with MVP as his manager.   MVP was terrific in this promo and with Omos' limitations, he needs to be the constant mouthpiece for the tallest wrestler on the roster.  MVP started berating Lashley and informed him that if not for faulty equipment (the steel cage came apart when Omos and Lashley last met), that Omos would have finished Lashley off. Bobby was better than he has been in recent memory on the mic.  He talked about beating both men and how there is unfinished business with MVP and challenged him to a match to decide the stipulation between he and Omos.  Lashley got a bit wordy for my liking in this one, but the crowd stayed with him and the point came across. MVP was fantastic with his frustration with Lashley, accepted the challenge, and let him know that he will win and the stipulation will be too much for him to overcome.  Lashley stated that he will put "his ass in the Hurt Lock".

Welcome to the Den!

Welcome to The Promo Den. On this site, we will primarily review Professional Wrestling promos, both current and historical. Promos generally what draws money in Professional Wrestling. A good to great promo can lead to more interest and intrigue in a current feud or rivalry, where a poor promo can turn the fans off and deter them from spending money on the product itself. We will review promos from all companies/brands as they become available online. Thanks!
